Allah is inviting us to the Home of Peace!
Spring brings with it fresh leaves and beautiful flowers in full bloom. However a few months later as Autumn rolls around, those very leaves begin to wither and fall. Just like the changing of the seasons, as one ends and another begins, this Dunya too is not permanent, it is fleeting and short-lived. And everything will one day come to an end.
For us to lose ourselves in this Dunya, to become engrossed and deluded by it, is extremely dangerous. When we become heedless of the Akhirah, we could end up wasting this one precious life that Allah has blessed us with. What we need to remind ourselves is that we are in this Dunya to earn the Akhirah.
In the following ayah, Allah invites us to the actual abode that we should strive for,an abode that is far better than the temporary home of this Dunya, an abode that is everlasting:
وَاللَّهُ يَدْعُو إِلَىٰ دَارِ السَّلَامِ وَيَهْدِي مَن يَشَاءُ إِلَىٰ صِرَاطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ
And Allah invites to the Home of Peace and guides whom He wills to a straight path [Surah Yunus: 25]
Allah is calling us to Dar-us-Salaam (Home of Peace) by inviting us to believe and do righteous deeds.
Salam (Peace) is a major feature of Jannah. It is a place that is protected from all kinds of calamities, hardships, disasters, shortcomings and sufferings. There is no other place where you will find true Salam, other than in Jannah.
So if Jannah is Dar-us-Salam, why then are we so content with the trivialities of this world. Why are we content with the insignificance of this Dunya, when Allah has promised us so much more…
In the Dunya, no matter how rich a person is, or how much he may own, at the end of the day, there is no real peace. There’s always the fear of losing what they have, fear of danger, fear of threats, fear of decline, fear of theft. This keeps a person unsettled, grievous and above all stressed!
Jannah is stress free! And Allah is inviting everyone in this ayah. However it is upto us to accept it. To believe and do righteous deeds.
